Hope

At Church I approached the beautiful stained glass window overcome with an inability to speak, two tears escaped my eyes and baptized my face as I sank to pray before the Space Between.

I had been afraid..and now I was praying to release that fear.
I looked at my hands, repeating "Thank You God" in my head, for I was also overcome with gratitude. For my boyfriend, my mom, the loving relationship of my parents on all fronts, the health and freedom of my siblings. But mostly for the awareness that God had opened my eyes to watch more love in all life. Some might call it seeing the world through rose colored glasses, but I saw it as truly seeing it, in the moment- the grace- of God.

I moved, or it moved, something moved within me, shifted slightly to the right, aligned with a third object and I knew the rest of my life was to be written in the silver and gold lining of the clouds.

There is a Hymn that says "You are the only hope, You provide the rescue, You alone can save" Literally you, the person reading this is the You. Only you can save yourself by allowing hope into your life. No one can feel hopeful for you in your place. And not only can you save, but you are worth saving. You are worth the rest of your life, to love yourself. Give yourself to the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of Love. Hope is one of the doors that opens to this world of love, and it is also a twin to the guiding light of fear. Hope and Fear show you where you are needed and where you want to go deeper than the material world. They welcome you to this world of love, may you change it for the better.

Lesson 16: Hope is an acknowledgement of the possibility to change.
