Womb

Many birthdays I find myself wishing "Happy Womb Emancipation Day!" Except psychologically we never leave the womb.

The womb is a doorway from one world into our world. From before and into now. I was in the shower and as I close my eyes there is no perception of here or there. It is all near me or within me and everything I can ever know in that moment is what I can touch and hear. There is no depth perception, no far off tree that I can hear. It is like we have never left the first room, the womb, for all that influences us is only our immediate surroundings.

We move from Point A to Point B but still we are only changing out locations, and our surroundings. This is a big world/womb we live in, and while we may travel around withing it,  our senses- touch and smell and sight and hearing never change from the position they were before the travel.

The only entrance into this world is through the Womb.

And as I stood there in front of the mirror I realized I had been chosen as a doorway, and as a pre-birth world for the many cells of future humans which live inside my ovaries. And also as a link in the chain of ancestry which contained in some part of my cells the living memories of all my before mothers and fathers.

The womb as a doorway. The womb as a world.

If the world before this one is a doorway, could not also this world be a doorway to another world?  And if I am a woman I hold a doorway within my body as I move through this world which is also a doorway into the next/ another world.

We are all here now.

From this I have made two conclusions which I feel I am compelled to uphold because otherwise I do not see a reason for existence.

1) Love Yourself with the most profound, deep, caring compassionate love you could ever dream up/of.

2) Love Everyone Everyday. Make sure people know you love them. Do more than just think it. Tell them. If not, 'I love you' then 'I'm So Fucking Glad You Are Alive'*. Love is so important. Without it babies die, our wombs die, our breasts die, our bodies die. Love . Love. Love. Love is all we need. To give, to have, to want, to hold, to know, to understand, to be silent, to rejoice. It's all love.

Lesson 7: The world is a Doorway, I am a doorway. Everything is love, I am love.

*"I'm so fucking glad you're alive" taken from a speech made on October 19th 2010 by Lex at the UC Santa Cruz Quarry Plaza in front of the Bookstore during the Candlelight March in honor of the queer men and woman lost to death.
